About This Quote
Happiness is not comfort. Happiness is the freedom to choose one's own way. We all want happiness, but sometimes we can’t see it because we are too busy looking for comfort. The problem with comfort is that it is often not real happiness, but instead something that makes us feel better for a little while.
Comfort comes from things like food, drink, sexual pleasure, and other sensual pleasures that may give us physical or emotional pleasure for a time. Happiness comes when you do things that make you happy. It is the freedom to choose your own way. If you keep doing what makes you unhappy, then it will only be worse.
If you keep doing what makes you happy, then it will only get better. When we are truly happy, we really don’t need much else. When we are truly miserable, we often need more than just what makes us happy.
